·       Basketball season just wrapped up; two of our teams went to the tournament.
·       Soccer is starting. (Our new uniforms are due in today.)
·       Baseball is starting. We have one C1 team and one tee-ball team. Participation numbers in baseball may seem low because of the popularity of soccer, and the increasing popularity of lacrosse.
·       Tennis is starting soon; Julie Klauck is back as our head instructor.
·       Commission compliments Kristen for doing a great job!

Cultural Arts Center
·       Open house postponed to May 9th and 10th because of a construction problem.
·       The trial classes, and sessions of classes, also pushed back.
·       A list of classes and instructors was distributed to commission members. Sessions (six weeks in most cases) will begin May 19th.

Old Business:
Tri-Health Report
·       Representatives will be here at our next meeting, April 17, to give their quarterly report.
·       Under suggestions, could Tri-Health give the date and time the suggestion was given, or when staff pulled the suggestion from the box? When the report is compiled, could staff bullet the different suggestions or put a space between each?
·       This month’s suggestion regarding 13 years & younger patrons being in the fitness center without proper supervision, will be reviewed with Tri-Health staff, again, to gather information of when staff has seen this problem, and the time of day the issue may be occurring.

Goals & Objectives
·       Department Master Plan - Michele, Mary Lou and David met and after discussion with Administration, have decided to wait until the Village Master Plan is completed.
·       A leisure path pamphlet will be completed by the end of the year. Stiney, Michele, Mary Lou, and David will work this project. The pamphlet will include current Gorman Farm paths, Griffin Park paths, and the linking routes via village roads and complex paths.

Director’s Report
·       In regards to Phi Lambda Pi’s speaker about drinking and driving, the Police Department has purchased a “goggle” device which allows a person the experience of what it’s like to be impaired. The Police Department plans to work with Phi and others to educate the community about drinking and driving.
·       Policy Sub-committee 2008 will be Michele, Mary Lou, Stiney, and David.
